ROTAMETER CALCULATION

 

AIM: To calculate the given rotameter and to find out Cd of the given rotameter

 

EQUIPMENTS AND COMPONENTS:

Measuring scale, measuring tank, glass, inlet and outlet pipes

 

THEORY:

            A rotameter consists of vertical value tube with a tapered cone in which a float assumes a vertical position corresponding to each flow rate through the tube. The rotameter are timer refused as a constant pressure drop, variable area of variable aspective. Rotameter are used for measuring of discharge of flow rate.

 

PROCEDURE:

1.      By using variable value the flow through the rotameter is fixed to some value and this rate of flow is being noted from the rotatmeter indicator known as theoretical reading.

2.      Now the water is collected from outlet for a minute of time and the amount of water is being measured using for this reading is known as actual reading thus co-efficient Cd is calculated.
