DERIVATIVE CONTROLLER

 

AIM: To design the analog proportional derivative controller using Op-amp

 

EQUIPMENTS AND COMPONENTS:

Op-amp, resistors Pot, connecting wires, function generator etc

 

THEORY:

            The derivative controller mode gives a controller additional control action when the error changes consistently. It also makes the loop more stable which allows higher controller gain and faster integral action.

 

            The effect of reducing the maximum derivation from the process set point if the process receives and external disturbance, for the typical temperature control loop, you can expect 20% reduction in the maximum deviation.
