(Cough Syrup)

COMPOSITION:
Each 5ml contains
Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide     10mg
Menthol                                               1.50mg
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride             2.5mg
Triprolidine Hydrochloride                 1.25mg

INTRODUCTION:
DEXTROMETHORPHAN HYDROBROMIDE:
It acts in the CNS to raise the threshold of cough center or act peripherally in the respiratory tract to reduce tussal impulses, or both these actions. Antitussives should be used primarily for dry unproductive cough or if cough is unduly tiring or hazardous.

PHENYLEPHRINE HYDROCHLORIDE:
It is a frequent constituent of nasal decongestant preparations for topical use. It is a selective ct I agonist, has negligible 3 action and a minor component of indirect action and thus causes vasoconstriction.

TRIPROLIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE:
Is a sedating antihistamine, which acts on histamine H I receptors. Antihistamines block the action of histamine, preventing dilation of blood vessels, reducing redness and swelling. Antihistamines pass from the blood into the brain, producing general sedation and depression

INDICATIONS:
Dry or Non-Productive cough. cough associated with viral or bacterial inflammation of upper respiratory tract, Sinusitis, Laryngitis. tracheitis and Phaiyngitis.

DOSAGE:
·         Adults & Children over 12 yrs:
      10 ml. thrice a day or as directed by the physician.
·         Children 5- 12 vrs:
      5 ml thrice daily or as directed by the physician.
·         Children2-5yrs:
      2.5 ml thrice daily or as directed by the physician.
