Multivitamins, Multi minerals and Anti-Oxidants with Methylcobalamin

(Multivitamins, Multi minerals and Anti-Oxidants with Methylcobalamin)

INTRODUCTION:
Vitamins are non-energy producing organic compounds essential for normal human metabolism that must be supplied in small quantities in the diet. The importance of vitamins as drugs is primarily in the prevention and treatment of deficiency disease. Vitamins deficiencies occur due to inadequate intake mal absorption, increased tissue needs, increased excretion, certain genetics abnormalities and drug vitamin interaction.

VITAMIN A:
It has an important physiological role in visual cycle in the eye retina, maintains the integrity of epithelial tissues and necessary for optimal skin. It’s also useful for maintenance of spermatogenesis & foetal development.

VITAMIN E:
Vitamin E acts as anti-oxidants, protecting unsaturated lipids in cell membranes. It helps to favorably influence the cardiac status, physical endurance, potency, fertility and longevity.

VITAMIN C:
Vitamin C plays role in many oxidative & other metabolic reactions, e.g. hydroxylation of prolene & lysine residues of protocollagen. Severe Vitamin C deficiency leads to scurvy commonly seen in malnourished infants, children, elderly, alcoholics & drug addicts. Symptoms stem primarily from connective tissue defect increased capillary fragility, swollen & bleeding gums, ethical & subperiosteal hemorrhages, deformed teeth, brittle bones, impaired wound healings, anemia and growth retardation.

VITAMIN B1:
It acts as a coenzyme in carbohydrates metabolism, decarboxylation of ketoacids, hexos monophosphates shunt. It also appears to play some role in neuro-muscular transmission. Its deficiency causes dry beriberi, dropsy, palpitation, breathlessness and weakness of the heart leading to heart failure.

VITAMIN B2:
It is essential for several oxidation processes inside cells and is concerned with energy and protein metabolism. Its deficiency symptoms are-soreness of the tongue, cracking at the angles of the mouth, redness of the eyes, burning sensation of eyes, scaliness of the skin in the region between the nose and angles of the lips, scrotal dermatitis

VITAMIN B6:
It is involved in protein and fat metabolism as a coenzyme. Its Deficiency symptoms, anaemia, Cachexia convulsions in children angular stomatitis and naso-labil seborrhoea. Red, painful tongue.

METHYLCOBALAMIN:
Is the neurologically active form of Vitamin 1312. It is a co factor in the enzyme methionine synthase, which functions to transfer methyl groups for regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. The liver does not convert cyanocobalamin, the commonly available form of Vitamin B12, into adequate amounts of methylcobalamin, which the body uses to treat or correct neurological defects. Animal studies have shown that high doses of methylcobalamin are effective in neuron regeneration.

CALCIUM:
Formation and maintenance of skeleton and teeth. Also required for the normal contraction of muscles and the heart, nervous activity and blood clotting. Its deficiency symptoms are - Osteoporosi, Pathological fractures, brittleness and hair.

ZINC:
It acts as a cofactor for a number of enzymes. Deficiency symptoms growth failure and poor development of gonadal functions.

COPPER:
It plays important role in iron absorption involved in the cross linking of connective tissues, neuro transmission and lipid metabolism also present in various enzymes. Deficiency symptoms, Neutropenia, anemia impaired myelination and catecholamine metabolism may lead to CNS symptoms.

MANGANESE:
An activator various enzymes stimulates bone growth and cholesterol synthesis. It is involved in glucose metabolism. Deficiency symptoms-hypo glycaemia, poor bone growth, lactation problems.

SELENIUM:
It effectively terminates free radicals activity, implicated in tissue damage. The selenium exerts their effect by counteracting oxidative processes that contribute to the causation of the chronic disease.

CHROMIUM:
Linked to diabetes, cardio-vascular disease but the correct Mechanism not yet postulated. Its deficiency symptoms impaired GTE’.

INDICATIONS:
General debility, Post operative prophylaxis, Hypermatabolic rates, convalescence and Malnutrition.

DOSAGE:
As directed by the Physician.
