Flavanones are a subgroup of flavonoids, which are natural compounds found in various fruits and vegetables. Flavanones have gained attention in research due to their potential health benefits, including their effects on type 2 diabetes. Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Properties: Flavanones have been shown to possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Chronic low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress are contributing factors to the development and progression of type 2 diabetes. Flavanones' ability to reduce inflammation and neutralize harmful free radicals may be beneficial in managing the condition.

Insulin Sensitivity: Some studies suggest that flavanones may improve insulin sensitivity, which is a crucial factor in the development of type 2 diabetes. Enhanced insulin sensitivity allows cells to respond more effectively to insulin and take up glucose from the bloodstream, helping to control blood sugar levels.

Flavanones have been linked to cardiovascular benefits, including improved endothelial function and reduced blood pressure, which can have positive effects on cardiovascular health in individuals with diabetes
