 Types of Bevel gears

Straight Bevel Gears: Straight bevel gears have straight teeth thatare cut along the conical surface of the gear. They are the simplestand most commonly used type of bevel gear. Straight bevel gearsare suitable for applications with low to moderate speeds andloads, where smooth power transmission is required.

Spiral Bevel Gears: Spiral bevel gears have curved teeth that arecut in a spiral pattern along the conical surface of the gear. Thespiral teeth allow for gradual engagement, resulting in smootherand quieter operation compared to straight bevel gears. Spiralbevel gears are known for their higher load-carrying capacity andcan withstand heavy-duty applications with high speeds and loads.

Hypoid Bevel Gears: Hypoid bevel gears are a variation of spiralbevel gears. They have offset axes, meaning the axes of the inputand output shafts do not intersect. This offset design allows formore flexibility in the positioning of the gears and provides anadditional advantage of torque amplification. Hypoid bevel gearsare commonly used in applications where a high torque-to-sizeratio is required, such as in automotive differentials.
