DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING
DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING
Digital image processing deals with
manipulation of digital images through a digital computer. It is a subfield of
signals and systems but focus particularly on images. DIP focuses on developing
a computer system that is able to perform processing on an image. The input of
that system is a digital image and the system process that image using
efficient algorithms, and gives an image as an output. The most common example
is Adobe Photoshop. It is one of the widely used application for processing
digital images.

DIGITAL VIDEO
PROCESSING
A video signal is the term used to describe
any sequence of time varying images. A still image is a spatial distribution of
intensities that remain constant with time while a time varying image has a spatial
intensity distribution that varies with time. Movies (films) and television are
both examples of video signals as are the signals that drive computer monitor,
laptop and PDA displays. It is widely expected that video communications in
particular will be the next application driving the mobile and handheld device
market. This course should give you the tools to understand the components that
are necessary for such systems to operate effectively
